Shamanic Transformations

Following a reading from Shamanic Transformations: True Stories of the Moment of Awakening, contemporary working shamans Itzhak Beery, Lewis Mehl-Madrona, and Nadiya Nottingham will take the stage to share stories of their spiritual epiphanies and demonstrate elements of their shamanic practices for audience members. The program will include a Q&A with the shamans. Book sale and signing to follow.

Can’t get enough of shamanism? Before the event, visit the Museum exhibition, Becoming Another: The Power of Masks, to explore shamanic masks and other ceremonial objects on display.

About the Author

Itzhak Beeryis an internationally recognized shamanic healer, teacher, and author. He was initiated into the Circle of Twenty-four Yachaks by his Quechua teacher in Ecuador and by Amazonian Kanamari Pagè. He has trained intensively with other elders from South and North America. Beery is the founder of ShamanPortal.org and cofounder of the New York Shamanic Circle and is on the faculty of the New York Open Center. His work has been featured in the New York Times, films, television, and webinars. An accomplished visual artist and owner of an award-winning advertising agency, he grew up in Israel and lives in New York.
