The Rubin Molly Crabapple
Molly Crabapple is a fine artist and illustrator for Marvel Comics, the New York Times, Red Bull, and the Wall Street Journal – as well as Neil Gaiman, The Box, SXSW, and your neighborhood fire eater. She was the comics creator behind Straw House (First Second Books, 2013) and Puppet Makers (DC Comics, 2011), as well as the creator of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, a worldwide movement of alternative drawing salons in over 120 cities. She has given talks at the Museum of Modern Art, The Brooklyn Museum, The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Sao Paulo’s Pixel Art Fair and South by Southwest Interactive.

Contemporary artists lead informal, topical talks within the museum’s galleries on select Friday nights at 6:15 p.m.
In conversation with Assistant Curator Beth Citron, speakers from New York and international contemporary art scenes interact with and informally discuss the rich artistic traditions of the Himalayas and surrounding regions in relation to their own practices and processes.
