    How do you find balance?

That is the question we are asking throughout the museum this spring through the exhibition, Bodies in Balance: The Art of Tibetan Medicine.  We offered the query to some of our favorite yoga teachers who hail from studios in our Chelsea neighborhood and beyond.  They each created a yoga class in response.  Come experience yoga as a tool for finding balance, strength and flexibility, not only in your body, but in your mind and spirit, as well.

    About the Teachers

Sheri Celentano is a lover of breath and movement. What an incredible gift to share this love, what connects us to our own spirit. A Brooklyn native Sheri has been teaching since the age of 15. From the NYC Public Schools to European Yoga Centers, there was no escaping this calling. She holds an undergraduate degree in Dance from the University at Buffalo and was certified at her home, Laughing Lotus NYC in 2005 under the guidance of her teachers Dana Flynn and Jasmine Tarkeshi. Sheri has also been inspired by her studies with Ana Forrest and Raghunath Cappo. At present she is a Creative Director and Senior Teacher at Laughing Lotus NY where she leads 200 and 300 hour Teacher Trainer Programs and Retreats around the world. Many heartfelt thanks to ALL of the teachers that weave in and out of this incredible human life!

Alison Cramer is the Co- Creative Director at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center NYC and one of the core teachers for their acclaimed Teacher Training Program, both at the 200 and 500 hour level. Her passion for Yoga and Ayurveda led to the creation of a 50 and 100 hour Ayurveda and Healing certification program at Laughing Lotus NYC, where she acted as both Director and Teacher. Ali has taught workshops and retreats and guested in teacher trainings on Yoga and Ayurveda both nationally and internationally, and is continuously inspired by how these Practices bring people together and create Community. In 2013, she was honored to lead the very first 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in the Sudan, where she also worked with therapists at refugee relief centers and in schools throughout Khartoum. She writes an Ayurveda column for www.breatherepeat.comalignyo.com, and mindbodygreen.com, and is happy to be a Lululemon ambassador. Ali is continuously inspired by these ancient Practices and how they can bring balance and peace to our busy modern lives. Stay in touch at https://www.facebook.com/alison.cramer
