Artists on Art: Jeni Spota

    Admission to the museum's galleries is free every Friday from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Tickets for the talk are free, but limited in availability and given away on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 5:45pm. Limit two tickets per person.

    In conversation with Francesco Clemente: Inspired by India exhibition curator Beth Citron, contemporary artists engage in informal dialogues about Francesco Clemente’s work and their own on select Friday nights at 6:15 p.m.

    About the Artist

    Jeni Spota lives and works in New York. She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Solo Exhibitions include: Giotto's Dream, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, IL and Don't Tread on Me, The Santa Monica Museum of Art, Santa Monica, CA.  Spota has recently participated in group exhibitions at Lucie Fontaine, Tokyo, Andrea Rosen Gallery, New York, Josh Lilley, London, Rhona Hoffman, Chicago, Luxembourg & Dayan, New York, Venus Over Manhattan, New York, Santa Barbara Art Museum, Santa Barbara, CA and Parrish Art Museum, Southampton, NY.  Her work will also be included in an upcoming group exhibition entitledIconoclasts: Art Out of the Mainstream at Saatchi Gallery, London.  She was awarded the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2012.
