The Rubin Himalayan Heritage Meet-Up
Himalayan Heritage Meet-Up
Every Month @ 6:00 PM
Meets on the first Friday of the month
On Friday, September 5, we’re happy to be bringing in a new season of the Himalayan Heritage group where we will honor the closing the Rubin Museum’s flagship show, Bodies in Balance: The Art of Tibetan Medicine.
This month, we will be joined by our friends Dr. Guna Natha and Dr. Dawa Ridak, who will lead the group in a Tibetan meditation practice, recitation, and visualization of Medicine Buddha.
We will also be welcoming Saranne Rothberg, the CEO of Comedy Cures Foundation, and Dr. Marsha Woolf, founder and director of Alternative Resources Unlimited, Menla Tibetan Medical Institute (MTMI), and Menla Tibetan Medical Research Initiative. Medicine She has practiced Natural and Preventative Medicine for 39 years, specializing in Chinese since 1975, and Tibetan Medicine since 1981, with a focus on treating cancer, the immune system, and women’s disorders. They will be sharing their stories of healing during our reception in the education center.
Intrigued by the culture, arts, history, and sacred traditions of Himalayan Asia? Join the Rubin Museum’s Himalayan Heritage Meet Up, an informal group that meets the first Friday of the month from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Attendees explore topics of interest through discussions, gallery tours, films, food, and meetings with guest speakers. The group is open and welcome to all. For further information, please contact Harry Einhorn or Tashi Chodron.
Tashi Chodron, Coordinator of Adult and Academic Outreach Programs, Rubin Museum Guide, and Voices of Tibet Founder, will serve as the host of the event.
