We employ staff in many areas, including curatorial, collections management, programming, education, visitor experience, the shop, accounting, information technology, publications, human resources, facility management, and maintenance.
A variety of internship opportunities for qualified undergraduates, recent graduates, and graduate students pursuing careers in the arts and museum fields are available throughout the year. All internships are unpaid, however, the benefits are significant and academic credit may be fulfilled by arrangement with the intern's college or university.

The Rubin Museum of Art offers semester-long internships to qualified undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates. Departments accepting interns include: Education, Programming, Communications, Publications, and Human Resources. In addition to departmental projects, interns have the opportunity to learn more about the museum field through group intern activities including trips to cultural institutions, brown-bag lunch discussions with staff members, and career development workshops.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for up to three internships. Please write a one-page cover letter which specifies (1) which internships you are applying for, (2) your relevant qualifications, (3) your interest in the Rubin Museum of Art, and (4) your availability (days/times). Please email your resume and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org. No phone calls please.
Due to the high volume of applications for internships, only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
In the event you are not accepted for an internship, please resend your application materials again for the following term.

Summer 2014 ARTS Intern
The museum will be offering an internship through ARTS Intern, a program of Studio in a School, for the summer of 2014. The ARTS Intern program places college undergraduates from diverse cultural backgrounds in paid summer internships at New York City museums. Eligible applicants must show a financial need and must either be New York City residents or be enrolled in a college or university within the five boroughs of New York City.
Interns work alongside museum professionals involved in all facets of the institutions' activities. Participation in ARTS Intern can impact a student's career path in profound ways. Please read through the program description and eligibility requirements carefully before submitting an application.
