Talk About Nothing

October 18, 2010 - January 29, 2011

Talk About Nothing

How we perceive and conceive of what is and what isn't is a universal question. It may, in fact, be the biggest question. It is at the heart of Buddhism's Diamond Sutra, Shakespeare's Hamlet, and Einstein's theory of general relativity. And here at the Rubin Museum of Art--itself, a museum of ideas--we have brought together some of the world's most active minds to talk about...nothing. There will be a lot to say.

-Tim McHenry, Producer

This series ran counterpoint to the exhibition Grain of Emptiness (November 5, 2010 - April 11, 2011).

A profound inquiry into the art of representation, Peter Liechti's The Sound of Insects probes the ever-elusive and mystifying line between life and death. The film also blurs the line between documentary and fiction. View the trailer here
